Because it's non-toxic, our mineral sunscreen is great for use on all skin types, including people with sensitive skin and children. The sunblock’s active ingredient, zinc oxide, is supplemented with aloe vera leaf extract, vitamin E, green tea extract, and other natural ingredients that help nourish your skin as it protects.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends using sunscreens with at least an SPF of 15, which blocks 93 percent of UVB rays. Higher SPFs provide even greater protection, but only to a certain point: SPF 30 blocks 97 percent of UVB rays.
Sunscreens with zinc oxide are often less irritating because the ingredients aren't absorbed into skin. The zinc oxide sits on the top of the skin to form a protective layer. If your child is going to be in the water or getting sweaty, you are going to want a water-resistant sunscreen (which this is up to 80 minutes before reapplication is needed - which is the highest rating).
How to Use Our Sunscreen
STEP 1: Pick the perfect sunny spot to visit. Pack a snack, some drinks and your mineral sunscreen.
STEP 2: Apply your sunscreen as soon as you reach your destination. Squeeze some into the palm of your hand, then massage into all exposed areas. And don’t forget those easy to overlook locations (we’re looking at you, back of the neck and top of the nose). Repeat these steps for any children in your care.
STEP 3: Sit back and relax or get out there and enjoy the water. There’s no need to wait!
